- designers often start with an existing problem and build on it
- its a lot easier to design a product in your mind then draw or sketch it
- started with evaluating what aleeady exsisted, investigated and researched
- low densisty polyethylene was used to make the lids
- Asthetics were very very important
- a computer controlled cutter moulds the design out of the die
- a lot of effort and design these days put into design
