My first attempt at sketching!

REFLECTION

Today in DF Mr. Ward taught us all about oblique and Isometric drawings and how to draw them. We drew many different shapes and experimented. An isometric drawing is a 3D drawing that you do on isometric paper. I will put a drawing up on my blog soon. :) I'll do several drawing/sketches of the lamp or different types of lights I could possibly like to draw and design. I am aiming for my light to have good esthetics, ergonomics, economics and it will most definitely function! :)

Reflection

Today Mr. Ward explained to us the brief of what we would be doing this term. This term we will be making a desk lamp. He showed us many designs of desk lamps and the finishing products. He showed us some documents on blackboard that we will be able to access when we need to. He also showed us some links that will be very helpful. When we were talking about the desk lamp he said it should be 4 things. He said it should have good asthetics =, which means it should look good. It should be ergonomic and econimic. Lastly, mustb probably most importantly it should function. Today I had fun and DF and cant wait until tommorrows lesson.

First Design Lesson

Last week we had our first design lesson. I was really excited because I hadn't had one since term 1 last year. Mr Ward told us a little bit about what we were going to be doing this year. The first object we will be designing and making a desk lamp. We also set up our blogs and made sure everything was ready to start design futures in 2012. I am really excited about this year and Design futures and can't wait to get started!!! =D
